What makes an ebike go: the parts in order
Here is how an ebike works, from the battery to the wheel. The battery stores the energy: its volts (V) times its amp-hours (Ah) give watt-hours (Wh), as the ebike battery guide explains. The controller manages the energy the battery delivers and sets the motor’s speed and torque; the motor turns it into motion, and the ebike motor guide explains its watts and the hub, mid-drive and e-trike drives. A charger approved for your ebike refills the pack from a wall outlet (see how to charge an ebike), and the ebike parts list names the rest, from brakes to the wiring harness.
